PROJECT DESCRIPTION
LADA was tasked to develop a clear, concise and user-friendly Citizenship Briefing Guide for Ghana to assist minority groups navigate the complexities of Ghana’s citizenship and naturalization process. The briefing guide is also intended to:
- increase the knowledge and understanding of minority groups about the law, i.e., who qualifies for citizenship, who does not qualify, and those denied citizenship in practice despite their qualification;
- equip minority groups with the language, arguments, skills and tools to effectively engage the citizenship laws, regulations, policies and institutions of Ghana, and generally for advocacy; and
- better serve the aim of a positive impact on the overall political stability of the country by addressing internal instability dynamics occasioned by citizenship conflicts that could be an opportunity for the incursion and expansion by violent extremist organizations into Ghana.
