PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This Assignment, which was undertaken in collaboration with the Environment Protection Agency-Sierra Leone, entailed the revision of the 2012   EIA guidelines for the agriculture sector and the drafting of an ESIA Regulation for the sector, as well as the benchmarking of the EIA License Fee structure.

The assignment involved facilitating an extensive engagement process with a broad spectrum of stakeholders in the public and private sectors that connect localized and national-level dynamics of the agri-business in Sierra Leone. A gendered-approach was utilized in order to identify the distinctive aspects of the project interventions for women and other groups who are mostly exposed to the social and economic risks in the industry.
