
Professor Christine Dowuona-Hammond is a legal expert with a focus on gender, land rights, and human rights. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Ghana School of Law and the Managing Partner of Hammond Law Company.
Professor Dowuona-Hammond has worked as a legal consultant for various organizations, including the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the World Bank, UNDP, DANIDA, and GIZ. Her work has involved conducting research studies, analyzing policies, and providing legal advice.
She has over 30 years of experience as a legal practitioner and law lecturer. At the University of Ghana, she teaches contract and commercial law.
Professor Dowuona-Hammond has published extensively on topics such as gender and land rights, inheritance, family law, contract law, and consumer protection.
She has also served as a legal consultant for the Government of Ghana, negotiating contracts related to the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO) and other government projects. Additionally, she has been involved in training programs on alternative dispute resolution (ADR), particularly mediation and negotiation.
