
Dr. Nelson Oppong’s academic and professional profile spans across several disciplines within the field of international development.
These disciplines include development policy and management; natural resources and sustainability; democracy and governance; governance and institutional development; international politics of development; conflict, security and international development; among others. He is a Lecturer in African Studies and International Development at the Centre of African Studies, University of Edinburgh.
His recent engagements, which include consultancies for the World Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat and various international risk advisory firms, focus on the intersections between global governance norms and localized dynamics of reform and sustainable development in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific regions.
